Hi, I’m Evgeny.
I’m a film and TV editor. On one project, I was asked to put together the end credits. Text on a black background — how hard could it be? Quite a bit harder than I’d expected, as it turned out.
You can learn a dedicated credits tool, but first you have to make friends with its interface. Or you can open After Effects. That used to seem perfectly normal to me. Now it feels a bit like hiring a lorry to deliver one letter. It’ll get there, sure. But I’d like something a little simpler.
Around the same time, I got into vibe coding — building software with AI. And I thought: why not make a tool I’d actually enjoy using? Upload a spreadsheet, get the credits looking right, download the finished file.
That became Edit Credits. I’ve tried to keep it easy to use, with plenty of room to play: fonts, spacing, layouts and the way the text moves. Enough freedom to get things looking the way you want.
It’s completely free at the moment. It’s also still in beta, so there are bound to be things I’ve missed. If something breaks, doesn’t make sense, or just gets on your nerves, drop me a message. I’d love to hear about it.
I’ve really enjoyed figuring this out and putting it together. I’m happy with how it’s turned out, and I’d be even happier if it helps you make your own credits. Have a play, make something you like — and thanks for stopping by!
